Apple Releases iOS 14.7 with MagSafe Battery Pack Support; Here are the details

Apple has released iOS 14.7 for all supported iPhones , but has yet to send the corresponding iPadOS 14.7 update to its tablets, which is strange because these usually come out together. However, the iPadOS 14.7 update may be released in a short time. Here are the details..

iOS 14.7 brings support for the MagSafe battery pack, which the company quietly released a few days ago. This is compatible with iPhone 12 , 12 mini, 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max.

The new software also offers an Apple Card Family feature that lets you consolidate credit lines and share a co-owned account with an existing Apple Card user, giving the Home app the ability to manage timers on the HomePod. Additionally, the Weather and Maps apps receive air quality information for Canada, France, Italy, the Netherlands, South Korea, and Spain. Finally, the Podcast library now lets you choose to view all shows or only watched shows.

The update, as you might expect, also includes a number of bug fixes related to the unexpected stopping of lossless audio playback in Apple Music, Dolby Atmos, and Apple Music, some missing a battery service message that disappeared after a reboot.

It's certainly not the biggest update, but it's probably good enough to install as soon as possible. To do this, go to Settings > General > Software Update if you're not already prompted to update your iPhone.
